About Brandon
Brandon LaFleur, baritone, is a Ph.D. student in Music Theory at Louisiana State University. He currently teaches the mixed instrumental ensemble for the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children in Lake Charles, LA, is a bass choral scholar at University United Methodist Church, and a teaching artist for the Kid’s Orchestra in Baton Rouge, LA. Brandon was previously employed as a Band Director at a high school and middle school in Kinder, LA, and as a contractor with the F.G. Bulber Youth Orchestra in Lake Charles. He holds a Master of Music in Music Theory degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Bachelor of Music Education from McNeese State University. Brandon has sung for various chamber and church choirs in and is also a regular member of Louisiana Vocal Arts Ensemble, and the Opus Vocal Ensemble. His research interests include computational musicology, Neo-Riemannian/transformational theory, and tuning theory.
