Emmie Gonsoulin

About Emmie

Emmie Gonsoulin, alto, is the Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana Tech University and McNeese State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. She has a deep love of theater and music, singing in choirs since 2004 and performing since 2008. She has performed in lead roles such as Cinderella in Into the Woods at ACTS Theatre (2011), Babe Williams in The Pajama Game at ACTS Theatre (2012), Sleeping Beauty in Sleeping Beauty at Louisiana Tech University (2015), and Kate in Kiss Me, Kate at McNeese State University (2016). In 2016, she attended Angels Vocal Arts Opera Intensive program in Los Angeles, California where she studied and performed operatic roles. Emmie has been directing church choirs since 2015, starting in North Louisiana at Alabama Presbyterian, at St. Andrew Presbyterian in Lake Charles, and has been in her current position at FUMC since 2019. When she is not making music, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul and son, Marvin, as well as working out at CrossFit Lake Charles where she coached for several years.
