About Dr. Thomas
Dr. Shane Thomas, tenor, is the Director of Choral Activities, Coordinator of Vocal Music Education, and Assistant Professor of Music at McNeese State University where he teaches courses in choral music education, voice, choral conducting, and choral literature. He holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH, Master of Music in Choral Conducting with distinction from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education from Stetson University in DeLand, FL. He has appeared as a choral conductor and professional soloist throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Dr. Thomas has performed as a soloist and a chorus member with professional choirs such as the Spoleto Festival USA Vocal Fellows, Bach Ensemble of St. Thomas, The Union, Coro Volante, Philadelphia Orchestra Symphonic Chorus, Old St. Mary’s Church Schola Cantorum, the Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, and the Westminster Symphonic Choir. Dr. Thomas loves traveling, being a total foodie, and cuddling with his tuxedo cat Luna.
